he's not a good manager, he's an excellent manager and has proved it over the last 20 years, doesn't matter how much you hate him you have to give him credit

as for money, through the 70s and moreso the 80s we were the ones with the money, we made Molby come to us for a trial when he was an international!!!! and we were the ones paying big wages, it's all cyclical

as I say, hate the man all you want but don't try and detract from his achievements, it makes you (and by association us as LFC fans) as thick as the next sky generation supporter

Its King Kenny vs Slur Alex...noticed anything?

Sure sign of the order in case anyone missed the point!

Bob Paisley should have gotten the knighthood ahead of bleeding Charlton, Matthews etc!
So if Kenny is the king, Bob is the emperor!
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

Im sorry i didnt realise my views represented all LFC fans. But just for the record iv been watching football way before Sky TV, infact before fergie was even at old trafford.

Fergie has always had the biggest budget, and just bought the most sought after players available - a very good policy but not exactly rocket science. Any half decent manager with a similar budget would have had success.

For his first 5/6 years in charge he only won the odd cup, regardless of this he still spent millions - if you watched football then you will remember he was on the verge of the sack. When he first won the league in 1993 he was lucky that Leeds did the worst ever title defence (then finished 17th), LFC were hopeless under Souness & Arsenal were poor. Now i appreciete you can only beat what is put in front of you, but at this point the competition was really poor.

If you look his signings (iv not listed them all - just the big ones) he was spending big every year, it may not look big now but they were massive fees at the time:

          1987
          Bruce 825k & McClair £850k

          1988
          Leighton 850k, Donaghy £650k & Hughes £1.8m

          1989
          Phelan £750k, Pallister £2.3m, Webb £1.5m, Wallace £1.2m & Ince £1.5m

          1990
          Irwin £625

          1991
          Kanchelskis £650k, Schemiechal £550k & Parker £2m

          1992
          Dublin £1m & Cantona £1.2m

Yes we spent money in the 80's, but that money was earned from success on the pitch. The only difference is that as soon as they got any success, theyre board properly capitalised on it generating more and more money enabling fergie to break the british transfer record numerous more times.

          And the rest is history.

But now for the first time he doesn't have the biggest or the second biggest budget in England, so we will see how good he really is.

I remember all that myself, when he was 1 game from the sack, and I also remember that a lot of our fans have put some blame on Kenny for the start of our downfall by leaving an old team / squad

I think you hit the nail on the head re their money increasing drastically as a result of a very shrewd board, something that we failed to really capitalise on, however, their success came (nicely for them) when sky took off which massively increased their appeal to new football fans

as we've seen recently with ranieri and scolari at chelsea, and hughes at man city (regardless of how he was treated) money is no guarantee that you're a good manager, and coming back to Kenny, when he was given money at blackburn he did what he's best at .... winning, so although I agree that demento has pretty much always had money at manu, I think he's a very good manager, and I'll agree to wait and see how good he really is

Amusingly he seemed to be using Babel's actions as some sort of twisted defence for his own outspokenness of ref's.

Yes, that's the same Ryan Babel who was cited, charged and punished by the FA for his actions.

              Myopic ****ing ****.
