Al, couple of ones then ( I know nothing about this btw, I'm asking out of curiosity, nothing more)

      1) What about crowd/stadium shots, flags etc?
      2) It's technically illegal for anyone to put up in-game shots anywhere on t'net for others to view, whether stills or video etc, without a licence?
      3) Does LFc have rights to certain external images like the Shankly gates etc?
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
      Mine angry and defrauded young?

While it may not be sanctioned, I can't imagine that LFC or any other entity such as the Premier League or UEFA would care about personal pictures posted on a non-commercial forum such as this. Suing little guys like us probably wouldn't make for very positive press for them.

In cases where they take serious offense, they would probably just ask for offending material to be taken down.

Sorry but they do. Netresult act on their behalf and have taken out loads of fansites over this and fixture lists.

.....and another thing. You can have fixtures as part of TV schedules. If you post the next PL fixture it has to be with introductory text (ala YNWA site). I spoke to Netresult re all this and they aren't too bothered on this particular point but are hot on just plain old fixtures. They were the ones who advised me re TV schedules.

Really? Even over pics from people's mobiles and the like? That sounds a bit harsh, but I stand corrected. Cheers.

                  Thanks for that Al

I love this bit from that link... "As an aside, much of the licensing of live action is worded to protect ‘digital and broadcast’ rights, so you could legitimately set up an Easel, paint a watercolour of a goal incident, and stick this on a website. I think you’d just about get away with this.".... best get out your crayons match goers

So it'd be crowd/flags/external stadium shots could be posted Paul.

The stuff about fixture lists and even textual match feeds is interesting, shows how far footy as gone away from the regular fans I guess. The action stuff is predictable but leads to more questions, and I'm thinking more about utube and the like than a certain other LFC website; is their legal standpoint that they are not responsible for the content? Surely its uploaded to their servers though?
