Like i said, there's not one player in the Braga team that i'd want at Liverpool, yet we still manage to lose to them. WTF.

    Really, really pathetic.
They may not be better on paper, but they played well tonight and closed us down very well.

When our squad is as lacking in pace and dyanamism, as it has been for some time now, we are always going to struggle to break down a decent, well organised team who have come to defend.

Out of the 11 who started tonight only Johnson has any pace. We're one of the slowest, most one-dimensional teams I've seen.

The combination of players we had was never going to win the game, no creativity and no pace. It was all one-dimensional.

That's true. I had been holding out hope, in vain that he might come good. I've finally let go of any lingering hope tonight.

        He's been shocking.

You forgot that we badly lack leadership on the pitch. We have no one that you know you can point at and say that he is our captain and you know that he will always go out there and do an excellent job and not sulk and instead work your socks off showing that you really want to win in every game, every minute on the pitch.

Leadership is a key thing. Always has been and always will be.

i am not blaming Kenny. I blame the previous owners. IF we could have built when we finished second we may be in hugely different place. We didnt and went back pretty quickly.

i dont think the squad has the quality required but the point about mentality was in response to your post that the players on the pitch should have won. I think that the lack of mental strength is one reason why we lost. Also if suarez was eligable we may have seen a much better performance. Same with gerrard.

i wonder what difference adam would have made if we had signed him? maybe not much due to a lack of movement ahead of him of maybe he would have taken responsibility that some didnt.

also young would he have made a difference?

hopefully the team on the pitch will look much different next year in terms of shape mentality and movement

The only players we have in the squad with pace are

              Johnson (played)
              Kelly (injured)
              Gerrard (injured)
              Suarez (cup tied)

I thought Jovanovich was quite quick.

                    Adam doesnt hide imo

Neither does Kelly, Suarez or Gerrard (not often)

There were a couple of posters on here saying Joe Cole would be a big dissappointment when most were excited at such a transfer coup. Looks like they were right.

He'll be at West Ham next season.

i was wondering about Adam. Would he have ended up too deep in a game like tonight. and you still need movement to make a good pass.

he would give us something we dont already have. also young would give us an out ball

Let's face it. He is not a miracle worker. We have a ****ty squad and he cannot turn turd into gold. As simple as that.
Fair point but Kenny didn't change things up quick enough, Braga sussed us out after about 10 mins, plus bringing Spearing on was criminal.

They don't though do they. They get carried about by real players like Gerrard and Suarez. Which players from this squad give us consistently decent performances?

That just proves we have a **** squad.

Your point about players not performing also stands. We have a number of players who only turn up for the big games, some people on here think thats a good thing, I think it's a ****ing joke. We don't need big game players, we want players who want to play for Liverpool FC.
