I though Carroll's link up play with his head was great, on the ground he wasn't as good, I think he's still not match fit and is still getting used to the way we play. IMO we need at least one winger in the summer to make the most of him.

Carrollo looks only 75% to me, still warming to the task after the spell out injured. Signs of an understanding with Suarez, pretty encouraging really. He was knackered before he came off.

there were a few give and gos with those two that never happened. 3 guesses as to which of the two of them ****ed them up.

ok, but he still needs to be able to link with the other players on the ground. otherwise it really will turn into hoofball.

i thought carroll looked poor today. not in a "he's woeful and out of his depth" way, but in a "can't find the other players in good positions quickly enough" kinda way, which hopefully will stop being the case in time.

Thought he looked extremely tired (probably understandable after playing 90 minutes on Thursday)

He also looks short of sharpness, he wants too much time on the ball

Plus point for me was him winning a couple of headers in their box and getting them on target

That lad will score lots of headers for us with half decent service

Great win, some very good performances. Very disciplined, solid, some very neat attacking stuff muddled in with a dollop of dross. But this is why I'm tearing my hair out this season. We're back within sniffing distance of Europe, and I'm just waiting for us to be let down again. It's hard being a football fan sometimes!
