We may not have looked the part for the whole 90 minutes but what stood out for me today was the defensive display and having that extra bit of quality that can win you games. Suarez added that quality. Another thing to think about was that a lot of the lad's just played on Thursday so for that I think it was a professional and committed display.

Maybe Raul was poor as he did not start playing well until he switched to a more central role as opposed to playing out wide which does not suit him

In fairness he's played wide a few times under Kenny and played well...most notably vs the scum a few weeks ago.

It's not an ideal position for him but i can see why Kenny(and Roy tbf) plays him there because he's so friggin lightweight hence by playing in the centre his weaknesses can be exposed.

I wasn't able to see the match today because of the derby in Copenhagen. I've seen some highlights of the game and my god, Suarez keeps impressing me. He's maybe not as good a goal scorer as Torres but he enjoys the game and he is in my opinion as good (if not better) than Torres with his technique. (Please correct me if you have another opinion than me)
The first goal was a bit controversial the foul was clearly made outside the penalty box but hey who doesn't remember that insane beach ball goal at Stadium of Light last season? Sometimes the referees decisions are against you sometimes they ain't. That's part of the game.

I saw Oscar Wendt play today against Brøndby in he derby. Copenhagen won after a full half power play in second half and turned 0-1 to 3-1. (Thank god)
Oscar Wendt played a decent match today for Copenhagen. He made many good runs behind the defenders from Brøndby and played good together with Grønkjær (former Chelsea player if you remember him) he made some good passes from the left side of the pitch to the left and kept the ball close to him. He also made some good dribbles (don't know if that's how you say it) but sometimes he looks like he forget that he still gets payed to play for Copenhagen and he looks lazy. I think it's because we already have won the championship and he knows that this is his last season in Copenhagen. Overall a good and solid performance from Wendt and would be a good sign for Liverpool. I really hope he will join Liverpool. He wont disappoint you. He's fast and can run 100 meters from his own penalty area to the opponents many times a game. Overall performance today 7,5 out of 10.
              JUSTICE FOR THE 96!

Not the most dominant display I've ever seen but a good win nonetheless, its good to see us not playing well but still getting the result. A talent the scum are unfortunately masters of, but all the usual suspects played well today, players you'd expect to do well for us week in week out if we're going to be back into the champions league. Spearing played above and beyond the norm, and if he can play like that every game I don't see why he can't be a part of the first team set-up more frequently at, least on the bench. Unfortunately I just don't see it.

Suarez looked excellent again, finish for his goal was brilliant and was unlucky not to have another when their keeper pulled off a cracking save

Carroll for me today wasn't brilliant but he did a job, clearly wasn't fully fit after playing the full 90 on Thursday but put a good shift in, he looks a little like he isnt quite used to the team set up yet. But he is probably one of the most dominant players in the air I have ever seen. Was also nice to see we didn't just resort to the hoof ball all the time like against Braga, for me that shows what Suarez brings to the side.

We also look a lot more sturdy defensively Agger and Skrtel had a brilliant game between them and Johnson looks to be getting more defensivly strong every game. When Kelly is back and we can rotate the likes of Agger, Carra and Skrtel round we could have a very strong back four, with the addition of a couple of defenders in the summer.

Kenny is slowly building us back into a competitive team, and it is obvious to see, the foundations are being put into place and once we get rid of the dead weight in the summer and bring in some new talent, importantly some wingers I think we will start to see the best out of our squad, and the Liverpool of old will be back
The times they are a changin'.

I remember reading a few posts on LFC forums, people giving off about other teams singing the Torres song(different words obv).

Anyway, i do like the song but it's a shame it's so iconic with Celtic fans.

Btw i'm really not sure about our special relationship with Celtic. Recall reading a thread on a Celtic forum a while back which asked whether they prefered United or Liverpool and it was pretty 50:50. Don't think there's any real bond between the Clubs tbh. Although they do have a JTF96 banner so fair play to them for that.
Had we nicked Ajax's song for Suarez then maybe you've got a point fella, but otherwise there's no comparison to Chelsea using the Torres song.

FWIW, I love the chorus but the verses don't scan that well. Can imagine the chorus will get a lot of airing on it's own, unlike the Torres song. At least someone's had a go, 6.5/10

Interesting stat by Sky showing that since KK took over we are the 3rd best team in the league points-wise. Would we be 3rd if he had been manager from the start?

Also one more win to equal Roy's wins.

Obviously we can't say where we'd be if we'd had Dalglish all season, but extrapolating our form under Dalglish over the whole season we'd have 60 points which would put us in 2nd, 3 points behind Man Utd. So you would imagine we'd be in a good position to at least get a Champions League spot.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I see Steve Bruce is crying about the Penalty. Well its certainly a change of tune from last year with the beach ball. These things happen in football Steve-o. You just gotta accept them

I think we'd have certainly been closer to the top 4 if not in it at present with Kenny in charge from the summer - we'd have managed a few more results against smaller clubs than under the Bodge more importantly though the players brought in during the summer wouldn't have included Poulson, PFK and Brad Jones and perhaps even Joe Cole.

Huge amount of cash wasted on players not nearly good enough which I honestly believe would have seen 1 or 2 decent signings in their place - mind you if we were in 4th at present we'd still find something to moan about
