No I agree, but I'm just saying I don't think he'll ever be a regular. Surely nothing controversial about that.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Yup, he's good back-up. You can't have a squad of world class players and Spearing is a decent squad player who does a fine job whenever he's called upon.

Never thought I'd have said that a year ago.

He was caught out badly against Fulham tbf before he was sent off.

Decent back up, but he could do with some positional discipline.

          He'd be a mid table/relegation team's Gerrard

Maybe. But from what we've both seen from his performances in the Accademy, reserves and first team then it shouldn't be any great surprise if he eventually is.

            He's a good player..
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Without Lucas, I honestly think we're a better team with him.

Definitely, he has to start until next season and if he keeps playing like tonight then him and Lucas fight it out. His career has hardly started either despite his age, learning all the time.

We are, but I still think we need better.

That looks more balanced to me. I don't see a midfield with Adam and Gerrard in it working well.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He reminds me of Sammy Lee.

I remember what everyone said of Lucas. First he was ****. Then he was okay as back up to Mascherano, but would never good enough to be a regular. Then he was good enough to be a first teamer. Now he's a vital component to any successfull side we may have.

I'm not saying Spearing will be as good as Lucas. But I never said Lucas would be as good as Masch. All I say is back the player and see what happens. He's clearly improved since Hodgson placed faith in him in the Europa games and this has carried on under Kenny.

If he carries on improving then he's young enough to get the experience and become a very usefull player for us.
                        Forwards.......

Wee Jay is crucial to us finishing in the top4 for me.

His tackling and covering is electrifying at times and its because of his presence we don't have to ask Charlie Adam to foul everyone in sight
Stevie, Jordan and Charlie cannot defend and cover the play to the rate that he does, he's a sharp midfielder that allows our attacking players space.

To those out there saying he should be a mid-table team player... Well take a look at the years he captained the reserves, he was a leader and a top player. I fully expect him to stay at LFC for a long time - LFC need home grown players.

Your too good to be true, can't take the ball off you you got a heavenly touch, you pass like Sounness to rush. And when we're pissed in the bars we thank the Lord that your ours

I don't think many would agree to that just a year ago but now in Lucas's absence his contribution will be critical especially as we didn't improve our midfield in January transfer window.

                              - it didn't take many minutes of that match to discover how big an influence Lucas had on our superb defensive record.
The Fulham players were allowed way too much space and time just outside our box

In light of Barry's poor form, Wilshire being injured again and Parker being 32. Do you think there is a case for Spearing getting a call up to the National Squad? I mean, he probably wont be a starter. But his form when he plays for us is consistently good.
