    Europe

    Possible?

8 points behind City - With City still to come to Anfield.

4 points behind Spurs - With Spurs still to come to Anfield (though they have a game in hand).

No doubt it is a long shot to make Europe, whilst both slipping up and us sneaking into the CL looks a total write off.

But with City to play Man Utd in the FA Cup, and Spurs taking on Real Madrid in the CL, it does give them both something to think about.

Either way, it's been a good weekend for us. Next up is West Brom away and after that, City at home. We may have a better idea of what's possible then.

We'll probably lose to the Hodge.

I'm confident we'll pick up more points than City and Spurs between now and the end of the season, will it be enough, not sure but beating both will be key.

        Should also be noted:

We have City and Spurs at Anfield to come, also Arsenal away.

City obviosuly have us away, also have Spurs at home.

Spurs have us, City and Chelsea away, also Arsenal at home.

        -----------

After that brief look at the fixtures City look to have the easier run in, but Spurs the toughest. If we can start taking care of our own business I really think Spurs can be caught.

It would tie in with how this season has gone tbf............

This hasn't been the first "is Europe/CL possible?" thread. Everytime we see some light we **** up and throw it away. I was starting to get positive before and we drew with Wigan and lost to West Ham.

Now we've gone and won two difficult games in Man Utd at Anfield and Sunderland at the SOL. And that has given us SOME hope.

With Spurs having to play us, the chavs, manure and arsenal - 5th should be achievable.

Spurs have to play City, I think they've already played Man Utd twice.

It's possible but we have to win against WBA in 2 week time and hopefully Wigan will do us a favor and at least tie Spurs in their next game.

If that happens we'll be just a step behind and 5th spot would be up for grabs.

I think 5th is certainly do able, top 4 going to be a long shot for this season but we're really not that far off from being back there again - shrewd summer of transfers and we'll be looking good

As long as we keep winning we will get at least 5th IMO. If we win our games then Spurs have to drop 4 points and City 5 points from their remaining games.

Everytime we **** up that adds points to that tally.

Finishing 5th would be certainly over the achievement given how poor of the season we had until January and how weak and thin squad we have.

If we can get some good quality buys this summmer I agree the future would look bright.

On that note, I couldn't help but to think, watching the game today, how much better team we would have been if we could have signed A. Young and Adam in January's transfer window

                            I don't want Europe.

Without it we can get back to playing saturdays. It's one less distraction to get in the way. We'll then start the season in August knowing we have 3 trophies to aim for.

I can't see it really hampering signings either. How many top players want to play in the Europa? CL yes.

Seriously lets trim the squad and bring in some quality. A smaller better squad with fewer games to play.
