I'll take a miracle for us to climb up to the 5th spot and for Everton to slide into 6th.

    Almost no likelihood for either.

Reliable source claims my (actually the BBC's) theory that 6th gets a Europa spot if City win the Cup and finish 5th is nonsense

I still think it's too much to ask, but we seem to be gathering momentum. If there were 4 or so games more to play (10 instead of 6) I'd fancy our chances.

I think as things stand this weekend is key, neither Spurs nor Man City play in the league. If we beat Arsenal we'll be 2 points behind Spurs and 5 behind City having played a game more than City and 2 more than Spurs. But the pressure will be on them Spurs in particular, they have some tricky games to come (Arsenal, Chelsea, us and City), so you'd fancy them to drop points. Similarly City's away form has been poor recently and you would expect them to drop points too. But we can't afford any slip ups, as the margin for error is so thin.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

think its just a step to far. Cant see both spurs and city losing half there games.

If City continue to play like they did last night, I can't see them winning half their games.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Anyone get the feeling that some people will still think we can get 4th, even when the 38 games are up and we're 6th?

I dont think we WILL but if we won at Arsenal next weekend, the other two arent playing, and suddenly the points gap will look interesting.

To clarify, no i dont think we'll finish 4th but by the same token, i see vulnerability and inconsistency stamped all over City and Spurs.

Indeed, but we've left ourselves too much to do. Spurs in particular will struggle and 5th is a possibility. 4th - no hope.

                            Love to be wrong.

We have to win every game to have a chance. A draw with Arsenal is no good.

Spurs I think will drop enough points for us to slip up v Arsenal, but I don't think City will. In all fairness this dream went with defeat to West Brom and even had we won that game our odds would still be slim as it is just too unrealistic to expect Liverpool to go on the winning run required.

the only chance we have is to be beat arsenal away. IF we did that we then have 2 relatively easy home games.

if we came out with 9 points there......Look at city's and spurs games,

                                We could start to believe.
