Great feeling going into games not dreading an abject performance. We can get 4th but we need some luck.

well we have 2 week break now...... also, we will have no mid-week games for the rest of the season.........

I just hope that city and united kick seven shades of **** out of each other in the cup semi final (any chance of a replay there??? don't think so but pity......) and likewise in the games between spurs v city, spurs v arsenal and spurs v chelsea........

If the following can happen:

1. Gerrard comes back from injury and finds some good form straight away....
2. Agger stays injury free for the next 2 months and we have the back 4 of Carra @ RB, Skrtel and Agger in CB and Johnson LB.......all fit for the 8 games
3. Carroll can get his shooting boots on as well....

Then we will give it a good ****in go.....

Because we have the 8 league games left, then Kenny will be able to pick his best 11 and stick with it. With other players pushing to get a look in as well, then you just never ****in know.....

Also, i get what people say about never winning at the emirates...... well we never win at Chelsea either and that changed..... we have the players......lets ****in motivate them to believe that they can do it!!!

we have left ourselves with a bit too much to do

and

we lack the strength in depth, the extra bit of quality imo, needed to pull this off.


You never know though - but it'd be a monumental effort by us, along with a real clsuter **** by the teams above us

We are running out of games and achieving 5th would be an outstanding accomplishment.

That I can see if we win next 3 games and Spurs have another slip but finishing 4th while still mathematically possible is extremely unlikely.

For my part, as long as it is there to be played for we should aim to be winning every game. There is no outstanding team in the league this season so why not. Overtaking 3 teams at this stage of the season would be remarkable though. If one man can make it happen it is the King.

Everytime this happens we shoot ourselves in the foot and loose to West Ham/Wigan/some other **** team we shouldn't loose to. We don't have the consistency or the squad to do it. We will get close to 5th if we are lucky but we simply don't have it in us yet. Mind you we will lay the ground work for a serious title challenge next season, especially with some key signings.

To be honest I do think we have the squad to have a bash at it. With few games remaining the lack of depth is less of an issues, especially with the lack of Europa league games. If we can get Carroll fit then we should have goals in us. I'm not convinced 4th is possible but 5th will be as long as Spurs refuse to defend and have CL football to distract them.

If we do any ground work for next season this term it will be by getting some experience for the fringe players. If one of Spearing, Pacheco or the other young players who have been on the bench can step up and become viable choices for some PL games next season that would be a big help.
