Five million 'like' Liverpool FC
Liverpool Football Club now has more than five million fans on its official Facebook page - and as a thank-you to those who follow us we're giving away a stack of fabulous prizes.
Starting next week, we'll be offering anyone who 'Likes' our Facebook page the opportunity to win signed shirts, footballs, boots and an invitation to watch the team train at Melwood.
Community manager Matt Owen said: "Passing the five million mark is fantastic and a week of prize-giving is our way of saying thank-you.
"Facebook is yet another way in which the club can interact with its fans by sharing news, photos, exclusive videos and, more recently, some of the best content that fans have uploaded to our very own social media platform - The Kop.
"We've been overwhelmed by how popular our page has been and it's yet another illustration of Liverpool FC's almost unrivalled global fanbase."
The prizes will be given away in conjunction with official LFC partners Standard Chartered, adidas, Carlsberg, Lucozade, Bank Of America, Jack Wolfskin, Maxxis and the Spanish Tourist Board.
Since launching in 2009, our official Facebook page has proved a hit with supporters from all over the world - with someone from virtually every country on the planet becoming a 'fan'.
It's allowed Kopites to communicate not only with other Reds, but also the club itself.
Just by clicking 'Like' on this page you'll get breaking news from LFC as well as exclusive photographs, offers, competitions and information about what's going on at Anfield and Melwood direct to your Facebook wall.
