Liverpool FC striker Luis Garcia modelled game on idol Gabriel Batistuta

0ShareComment (1)Recommend Luis Suarez celebrates his brilliant strike at SunderlandLIVERPOOL striker Luis Suarez has revealed he has modelled his “never surrender” attitude on former Argentina frontman Gabriel Batistuta.

The Uruguay international has made a significant impact both on the pitch and among fans since his £22.8million January arrival from Ajax.

He thanked manager Kenny Dalglish for helping him settle in on Merseyside but said he drew most of his inspiration from Argentina’s all-time leading scorer.

“Gabriel Batistuta reflects the bread and butter of the striker; what his soul must be,” the 24-year-old told FourFourTwo.

“I think I have that never-surrender attitude from him, because he never gave up.”

Dalglish has also had an effect on Suarez, who does not yet speak English fluently and is still getting to grips with life on Merseyside.

“I’ve already learned a lot from him,” added the World Cup star, who revealed as a 10-year-old boy he used to play as Liverpool on his PlayStation despite the club being thousands of miles away from his homeland.

“It seems like it’s only been a little while since he was last coaching.

“The first thing he said to me was ‘Hola, bienvenido’ (Hello, welcome).

“He still talks to me in Spanish because I don’t understand English fully yet. This makes me feel wanted.”

    I don't get the joke.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

                  I think so, yes.

I also think it's safe to say that our little exchange has made this thread infinitely better.

Also it's a bit rich of Assassin to laugh at the Daily Post for getting the headline wrong given that the thread title is wrong too.

i.e. thread title ≠ opening post

Had me worried I'd posted it that way in the news section...

                          Thanks. You're a lazy b*gger. Just c&p ≠ from Word or whatever.

That's always true and goes without saying.

I thought it was an ironic title.

                              Kind of seems unlikely though.
