The young starlet added 'They are great lads it would be a shame for them to miss out on the new comfy seats in the main stand through no fault of their own. Ian Ayre will probably give them to some local strippers anyway.'

Liverpool full-back Jon Flanagan is set to remain on loan at Burnley until the end of the season.

Clarets boss Sean Dyche had suggested earlier this week that the 24-year-old's stay at Turf Moor could be cut short during the January transfer window.

However, the ECHO understands that there is no break clause in the season-long loan that the clubs agreed last August.

Flanagan found his opportunities limited in the first half of the season - making just three Premier League starts and two further substitute appearances.

But the hope is that as he builds up his fitness he will secure more regular game-time over the coming months ahead of a return to Liverpool in the summer.

"We knew there’d be an adaptation period for Flanno," Dyche said.

"He knows about the players now and how we operate as a team, on the training pitch and I think that’s done him some good so he’s closer to where he wants to be. We’ll monitor his situation and him with us.”

Flanagan made his comeback for Liverpool in January 2016 after 18 months out with a knee injury.

The Academy graduate went on to make eight appearances under Jurgen Klopp during the second half of last season and earned himself a new three-year contract.

Didnt he captain the side earlier this year for one game? Then he was bombed out on loan?
                *Except Michael, who died.

Surely the purpose of going to Burnley was to get games. If he is not going to get games there, shouldn't we be looking to pull him back and put him where he can get games. Otherwise it is a complete waste...another wasted year.

The 24-year-old defender was charged following an incident in Duke Street in Liverpool city centre at around 03:20 GMT on Friday.

A force spokesman said Flanagan, from Cressington, Liverpool, is accused of common assault.

He has been released on conditional bail and will appear before Liverpool City Magistrates' Court on 2 January.

A Liverpool FC spokesman said: "The club has been made aware of an alleged incident involving a member of the first team playing squad.

"We will be making no further comment on the matter while the process is ongoing with the relevant authorities."

Liverpool-born Flanagan has made more than 50 first-team appearances for the club since making his debut aged 18.

He was a standby for England's 2014 World Cup squad, but has only played once for Liverpool this season and spent last season on loan at Burnley after a 20-month injury lay off.

the duke street/eberle street area was packed with young clubbers last night as it is most nights.

im not sure why a premiership footballer would have the bad judgement to put themselves in the middle of a such a 'mixed' crowd of people.
