There is a clear and important difference in those two scenarios you compare - the deliberate intent to cause harm.

Such a comparison downplays the seriousness of domestic violence.

I also highly doubt he did so because he was ignorant of how to treat another human. What sort of man doesn't know that hitting a woman is wrong? Not sure education therefore helps.

I get your point that players of differing levels of quality receive different levels of punishment or calls for punishment from fans but if this had have been Luis suarez or Roberto Firmino I'd say the same.

Not even slightly similar. Firmino was stupid and slightly over the limit, Flanagan was a disgusting domestic abuser. I'm sure that this won't be the first time he has done this but the first time he's been caught.

Intent on both cases tho - That was my point, what he did was horrific and he needs to be punished severely by the club, but, Drink Driving in my view is just as bad, but Firms had no-one telling him he should be sacked or strung up.

TBF to him he admitted guilt immediately and has made numerous apologies and further punishments await, distasteful his crimes have been I'd rather the club educate and help him.
