Special mention to Andy Carroll, I've not been convinced by his start, but did bare in mind that he has been injured. I think his first touch is rather poor but that's something he can work on. Showed what he can do tonight though and with the right players coming in the summer things can only get better for him.

Also class debut by Flanagan. Supported very well by an excellent Carra and the tireless running by Kuyt. Good positioning by Flanagan though and also some very classy passes.

Finally, I keep saying it, but if Jay keeps going he has every chance of becoming an able squad player for Liverpool. He is still learning though and we can't expect miracles. He does lack experience at this level depite having hung around the place for a while.

No they can't. They had the power to sack him. It is their responsibility to make tough decisions when they need to do it.

It doesn't matter if they owned the club a week or five years. They should have been up to date about everything from day one. It is their responsibility to be that.

I and many others said already back in November that FSG should have sacked Roy. They waited to long time and it cost us a CL place.

Sometimes you must make tough decisions straight away and be tough enough to do it.

FSG can't blame anyone else than themselves for missing out on a CL place.

I can see why they took their time, but I was livid at the time because I knew it was costing us big time. Quite clearly they weren't sold on Kenny and only turned to him after it became a big posibility we were serious candidates for relegation under Roy, though I do think we would have ambled in around midtable had he stayed.

Players like Darby and a few of our other youngsters never really got a fair chance to develop in the right way because of the mess in the Academy.

Now we have a youth team set up that know how to develop youngsters in the right way. Darby would most probably been a much better player if he had worked together with Segura and Borrell.

That is why we shouldn't be afraid to give them a chance. Having Segura and Borrell means that our youngsters will be ready when we need them.

The key is not playing to many of them at the same time but they will be ready and they will deliver if we need them. They will be mentally ready because of Segura and Borrell.

Our youngsters now shows time after time how mentally tough they are.

Flanagan is very different, hes very ****ing aggressive and has that fighting spirit - that counts for an awful lot

That match was probably as satisfying as the United game, so many positives.

Every player bar none played well.

Flanagan performed well above expectations.

Reina showed signs of geting back to his best.

Carroll ended the pressure of looking for his first goal.

Kuyt once again proved he is far from finished.

Spearing continues to build on recent good form.

Even Skrtel looked calm and composed at the back and played well alongside Carra.

Excellent performance (what price were we?) and even if we get duffed next by Arsenal then it wont be as deflating as recent defeats to **** teams after big wins.

I remember you and i, among others, kept saying it, one dismal result after the next. And they still waited.

And their doubts, IMO, were all about what's happening now - Kenny once again being the hero of the Kop and being nigh-on impossible to shift. I dont think FSG wanted to end up in such a powerless position.

The blame can be layed at the door of many a person mate, mistake after mistake is why we are where we are, or were, should I say.

I just think FSG should have gambled sooner and I said it at the time, just like as Arn points out, many others did. But that's the past and there's nothing we can do to change things.

I always said I would judge FSG on who we start with come Septmber 1st 2011 and I'll not be changing my mind on that. Who they get as manager and who they sign as players will dictate how far we have come.
