    Very interesting, Thanks Lec

Boardman's wrong on the goal diff. (or is the BBC?) It's +7.
      Are we winning?

If Man City finish fifth and win the FA Cup, there will be an extra Europa League place for whoever finishes sixth in the league #lfc #mcfc
Wouldnt the europa spot go to the FA Cup runners up, in that case? Rather than 6th?

Yeah I thought that Sterling was a bit hyped up too, understandable given the events which likely provoked the article, I'd took that with a pinch of salt more than the others if I'm honest

The lads made some major **** ups by being late for/ missing training / coaches for away trips and things like that do not go down well no matter how good a player you are
Didn't know that, would certainly explain a lot then.

Well hopefully he’s now watching the likes of Flanagan, Kelly and Spearing and realises that if he’s willing to work for it then he’ll have a chance here. Ability wise he should definitely be a useful player in a couple of positions the way Kenny sets up.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

When Kenny came in our GD was -3 (thanks to bodge). Diff between -3 and +7 is +10

The article was relating to players at the academy likely to make the step up rather than players such as Pacheco who are based at Melwood (when not out on loan obviously ). So I think that's why he wasn't included in that list.

I forgot about him earlier, I think of the young players out on loan him and Ayala probably have the best chance of being involved in the first team soonest.

Ah, our goal diff. rocketed by +10, thought he meant it was +10. Slight nuance.

Christ, considering how hard it is to break through, both in terms of ability, physical aspects and mental strength needed, and also how priviliged a position they are in, you wouldnt think they'd let something as basic as timekeeping become an obstacle between maybe breaking through into the first team squad, and failing to make it. If i was anywhere near good enough to be a part of the LFC setup, whether i made the breakthrough or not, i'd make darn ****ing sure that if i failed to make the grade, it wouldnt be down to being late for stuff Poor show.

I thought Europa spots only went to runners up if the winner was in CL. Could be wrong though. Surely Boardman has checked the UEFA regs, although given the standard of football journalism, it would surprise me if he hadn't.

Yeah because 17 year olds never f*ck up if they're talented.
                          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Also interesting that they do not include Pacheco that many fans have had high hopes for...
I only had the paper copy, I buy it when I'm in the Northwest as something to read on my journey home. I think you used to be able to subscribe to the Kop Magazine online but it wasn't free (~£1.75 an issue IIRC)

Yes the article was focusing on academy players rather than those at Melwood hence Kelly, Wilson, Pacheco etc not being included.

In terms of Europa League the cup places take preference. So if City qualify twice by finishing 5th and winning the cup, they would take the cup place rather than the league place. Probably because the place goes first and foremost with the silverware.

I think this rule dates back to the time when there was the Cup Winners Cup.

I wasnt meaning it as a dig, just pointing out how much of a shame it would be if, having overcome all the other (and frankly more difficult) obstacles, something as trivial as timekeeping put a spanner in the works. That's all.

You're far too defensive these days Neil. Rafa's left man, we're more expansive now
