One of my favourite moments of the game was tiny little Spearing flattening the ****ing humungous Yaya Toure in the 2nd half

i was really pessimistic about the game beforehand but we played well. the defence always looks much better with carra and flanagan at the right back was superb. just kept things really simple and his distribution was top notch.

needs to keep his head down and focus on working hard because theres definitely a player there.

spearing and lucas although limited going forward did very well defensively and they battled with citys big names all game. credit to both players.

suarez was unlucky tonight because it just didnt go for him but he was a constant headache for city. his movement is unbelievable and theres no way centre halves can keep an eye on him because he's all over the place. andy carroll still doesnt look fully fit yet but he tooks his goals very well. his first was a peach but it was his second that was more important because weve not had that sort of aerial threat since toshak and as long as we can put quality balls into the box he will deliver.

for me man of the match was dirk because he just didnt stop, he looked after flanagan really well and always tracked back to help him out. took his goal really well and generally gave kolarov a tough time.

Based solely on results since Dalglish took charge, #lfc would be 3rd, level with Chelsea, 2 points behind Utd. 9 ahead of City #frustrating

That was fantastic - brilliant to a man.

    Kuyt was outstanding.
Well done to Carroll for getting off the mark - will do him a power of good.
Also well done to Flanagan - excellent debut. The lad looked clam and assured. Very well done.

I too was guilty of pre-match negativity. Delighted to be proven wrong.

Players like Darby and a few of our other youngsters never really got a fair chance to develop in the right way because of the mess in the Academy.

Now we have a youth team set up that know how to develop youngsters in the right way. Darby would most probably been a much better player if he had worked together with Segura and Borrell.

That is why we shouldn't be afraid to give them a chance. Having Segura and Borrell means that our youngsters will be ready when we need them.

The key is not playing to many of them at the same time but they will be ready and they will deliver if we need them. They will be mentally ready because of Segura and Borrell.

Our youngsters now shows time after time how mentally tough they are.

The King oozes self-assurance. Compare his demeanour to The Bodge FFS.

Me too. I thought we'd loose if the truth be known so I refused to set my alarm. That'll teach me

It's easy for us to get despondent about stuff after one of those horrendous away performances we're prone to, but **** me we're strong at home. At home we're transformed and look capable of beating anyone.

Suarez had an unbelievable 1st half, but it turned into 'one of those nights' really. MOM is near impossible but Kuyt rolled back the years. He is a force of nature when he's in that mood.

Flanagan - ....said my piece about him in his own thread. Imagine how he'll be feeling tonight - absolutely buzzing. Made up for him. People like Darby have wilted a bit but young Flanagan looked at home in that sort of company.

Spearing - credit where it's due. More of that and I will be convinced. This and Sunderland have been his best games - if he can maintain a level of consistency he'll have a chance.

    Andy Carroll
    Love it Shags
