Semi finals of the UEFA cup against Barcelona - up steps Gary Mac with the penalty after Kluivert inexplicably handballs in the box right in front of us at the Anfield Road end. I'd never wanted him to score a pen more since the 1996 England game...
He slotted it away with calm authority and the Real Madrid fans in the row behind us went nuts singing something in Spanish that I'm sure was littered with Barca related abuse and swearwords.
