        disappointed in the pair of them, for it to take pressure from fans for them to pull out is unreal.

        Both were there that day and Whelan was the captain are they really so nieve to not realise this was totally wrong - idiots!

          They didnt withdraw,RTE withdrew them from it as Houghton clearly states in the report.

          I lost all respect for Whelan a long time ago with his constant sniping about Rafa and the players.He was even asked to help get the last owners out but preffered to moan about Rafa.

          From the report:-

          Ray Houghton has told TheJournal that he didn’t know anything about the decision by RTÉ and added: “It’s down to them I’m not going to say anymore.”
