This is way too optimistic for me. First of all, new signings are going to have to gel, whoever we sign. The top teams this year have underperformed and I think that everybody will improve next year. Also It just seems like unnecessary pressure. This is still a rebuilding job and should be viewed as a long term project. Challenging for the title is unrealistic in my eyes, Its possible but I feel an aim of champions league spot is far more realistic at this stage.

I agree and think it would be better to adopt Dalglish's approach. Try to set out to win every game (recognising that's never going to happen) then add the points up at the end of the season. If we get more than everyone else then it would be fantastic. If we end up in the top four then that would be excellent progress.

Setting clear ambitions/ expectations to win this or that only adds unnecessary pressure.

It would be fantastic to win the league next season but I'm happy as long as we get stability and make progress. Allows the youngsters that will get the chance to make mistakes and not moan when they do.

I just want a positive feeling around the club. It will be a busy year for FSG. They will have to start working on the new stadium or to expanding Anfield. That is a must. That is work that will have to start in a month. They will have to sell and buy many players. Get rid of some the high earners.

        Stability, positive feeling and progress.

We are on the right way. The stadium is still the key to take us back to the top again.

          I agree with Arn

If we can get back into the top 4 next year, i'll be delighted with that. I DO think we could possibly challenge for the title if we buy well this summer and things go our way, but top 4 would be great.

7th last year, if we finish 5th this time and 4th or 3rd next year, that's good steady progress, which is both satisfying and realistic.

Positivity and stability etc is all well and good but we also need Champions League football for the season after next.

If we make progress then we will finish in the top four. The stadium bit is still more important than CL football.

I wonder when they will make that decision? If they want to expand Anfield then that work will have to start as soon as possible after our last home game this season. That means in a couple of weeks.

I would say that it points to that they will build a new stadium and not expand Anfield. Surely we would already see the first signs of work in progress and signed the first building deals if they would have decided to expand Anfield.

Once they got the taste of CL football they will be desperate to qualify for it next year. They did improve their revenue significantly this year with new shirt sponsors, CL income, match day revenue etc. and I fully expect them to go and invest all that money into bringing some good quality players.

They will be the difficult team to beat next year and imo they will be competing with us for top 4 spots.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Didn't Levy intimate a few weeks ago that a lack of CL football would have a serious impact on their spending power?

If he had got the WBA job earlier he may have held on to that most prestigious LMA trophy this year. Just proves what a great manager he is and how clueless we are

                                Kenny has done well.

May as well wait until the end of the season before giving him a contract though.
