Luis Suarez's impact is reaching Torres of 2007-2009 levels and at times is higher. Each time he gets the ball I expect him to go past 2 defenders. If he is more clinical in front of goal, he could have had a hat trick each game. The defenders are **** scared of him. He intelligently links up with other players and raises everybody's game.
Attacking players of his caliber help nullify and negate any deficiency we have in midfield and defense especially at home as the opposition are afraid to commit players forward. He is exactly the sort of player Ferguson builds title winning teams around.
Good win today, didnt play well throughout but didnt have to.
Delighted for Suarez's goal, he needed one. Well done to Dirk, another goal and an assits, happy for Maxi too, he mustn't be far off 10 goals this season, which is brilliant for a bit-part player as he's been.
Flanagan will benefit from today, not his best display but chalk it up as experience. Good to have GlenJo back today, had a very good game as did Lucas (as ever!).
Biggest thumbs up to the superb Jay Spearing, who was immense today, box-to-box at its best, won some good interceptions, never gave up, got forward well, used the ball well, had a good shot and overall, was MOTM for me.
Maybe, but his biggest attributes seem to be bringing others into the game. We've been scoring freely because of him.
Oh i agree with this, but for someone who scored 49 goals last season (i know it's a weaker league, but he's still a goalscorer), i think there's more to come in the goalscoring stakes.
Sometimes i think he lacks a bit of composure when it comes to shooting, and he thrashes at it a bit - he's had a few attempts since he joined us where's he's blazed it over from a good position, largely because he's not kept a cool head.
