This will be a tough game, very awkward and well organised side. Kuyt & Suarez have been excellent together so IMO i'd keep them in there. Like to see Carroll for 25 mins or so at latter stages. I'm not the greatest fan of Maxi but he has done very well recently, making runs into the box and picking up second balls so he's be a starter for me aswell. The rest of the team pretty much picks itself IMO with injuries etc

Meireles is only good in one position behind the front man, anywhere else he seems to not be able to adapt and game passes him by, midfield battle zone is not a place for him to be in either. Good squaddie next season IMO

Well perhaps we should play him in the position he's played for 99% of his career - defensive midfield. He's done extremely well in an unfamiliar advnced role for us, less so in the Hodgsonesque wide role Dalglish has relegated him to.

So we really need to beat Fulham 4-0 or more. Then hope Tottenham beat Man City at least 2-0 on Wednesday. Hopefully Stoke will get a stuffing from City in the cup so will come back to hold City to a draw in the league. That'll leave Bolton playing at home giving us an outside chance of capturing that fourth spot* with another draw and a worse goal difference than us.

*obviously we have to win all our games which isn't impossible.

I know we always think next season will be better (except maybe after we came second), but with decent investment we can really push for 4th place with confidence. I don't want the EL tbh, unless it's for playing the reserves.

I do, I like the Europa league and if it gives some of the youth players more of an opportunity to play first team games, then it can only be a good thing for the club in the long run.

The final against Alaves is one of my favourite Liverpool memories.

We managed to get through the group stage this year more or less with a reserve team and Bodgson in charge so you'd hope we could do the same next year, if you do likewise in the playoffs (before the group stage) That's 8 games for the kids and minimal involvement for first team regulars.
