Are you going to turn every subject into an anti Oldham thing?

Look at my past posts and see if I "turn[ed] every subject into an anti-Oldham thing" as you have claimed. Despite my obvious dislike for Oldham, you will find that I have tried my best to limit myself to only-Liverpool subject matters.

The poster wants to know why people don't seem to like Tompkins. It is a perfectly legitimate question and one that needs to be answered because the truth is that Tompkins is generally well-regarded by Liverpool fans.

Tell me exactly what problems you have with my answer. And how you possibly expect me to answer the question without the mention of Brendan and Oldham.

You really think the reason some people don't like his writing is because of Oldham...lol it might have something to do with the fact that he writes as if he were on a forum. Doesn't say much for anyone if they make up their mind on Tomkin based on whatever went on with Oldham. You should give people more credit that they are able to make up their own mind. The world doesn't revolve around Koptalk you know, there are real people out there. Koptalk bashing is for another thread by the way.

Ok. If I were to read that article without knowing who the author was, I'd say (in the lack of less crude terminology) that the author was somewhat embedded in his own rectal passage. I mean, this bit reads like a GCSE student's attempt at creative writing. Must use atleast 3 metaphors per noun etc.

His articles are often nice to read...sometimes too positive and rosy imo and thats why he's perfect for the official site.
As Brendan said, I can make my own mind and therefore not taking all what he says as the word of god...

OK then, maybe perhaps the reason some people dislike Tomkins is not just because of Oldham. I admit that I got that wrong. But let's not deny that Oldham & co did contribute.

His style is pretty, how shall we say, flaccid. But, he does usually crystallize a point. He's better than your average/abnormal KT poster.

Tompkins is generally very well regarded by Liverpool fans.

There is a very small minority led by Brendan, Duncan Oldham and Ryan that pillories and ridicules the man at every opportunity. Brendan is obviously new to this forums, so he is a bit toned down at the moment, but his dislike for the man is deplorable. It all started when Tompkins used to be a contributor at the old Koptalk site. When Oldham refused to pay, Tompkins left and Oldham started a personal vendetta against Paul. To appease its leader, Brendan and Ryan followed suit. This is just part of the story.

Now do I care very much for Tompkins 'rosy in the garden' soliloquays. His articles could generally be summed up with "We're great, and Rafa knows what we're doing"...

Moreover, I've perused his desperate ramblings about me in that blog, and going by the lack of interest/replies he gets on here, I see his 'humour' falls on deaf ears.

The last thing I need is to have the same stalkers from KT drooling after me here too...
