Well yeah, that and Arsenal's bid of £40m + £1 was hardly something to negotiate in good faith about given that it showed they had inside knowledge of a confidential contract clause.

I actually wonder how different this all would have been if Arsenal had just bid something like £45m from the getgo and been prepared to actually negotiate properly. All they've actually done is trolled us with an insulting bid then sat there watching the chaos as Suarez has gone postal. At least Chelsea for all their flaws do this **** properly, when Torres made it clear he wanted to go they hiked their bid to an acceptable level without much messing around.

I've pretty much been saying the same thing. It's always been this way, but the boot is on the other foot now. Things have changed. 22 years without winning the league with no prospect of winning it any time soon, does this to you. That is life. In many ways Rodgers has the most difficult task ahead of him than any of his predecessors since Shankly.
