I'd say more an awareness that there's probably loads of stuff you don't know about means withholding judgment is a better course of action.

It's really easy to be judgmental and I think it's often a trap.

And there's also loads of stuff he doesn't do, that others have done. To my knowledge, he hasn't chinned anyone in a club, he hasn't been arrested, he hasn't got drunk at the Christmas party and shagged a stripper on stage... Of course that's not especially noteworthy, most of us haven't done any of them, but then most of us aren't in the public eye like all these gazillionaire footballers.

I doubt many of us would find ourselves blemish-free if put under the media gaze these guys endure (and are richly compensated for).

Thing is, we knew all about Suarez and how he'd acted with previous clubs when he joined us, he is driven when it comes to his career, if he thinks he can better himself then he'll go out and do it, or try to..

So, if people liked him after that, why dislike him now just on the basis that he did the same to us ? Is'nt that an emotional response ?

Main thing is he plays for us and gives 100%, i won't ask nor expect any more than that, because after all is said and done, it's the most important thing he can do for this club.

Hmmm. I'm thinking it might have been a touch more nuanced than that, but whatever because I definitely can't be arsed proving it, I defer to your graceful triumphalism.

I should also point out that having been an almost lone voice in favour of Sturridge pre-signing, having been right behind Rodgers from day one, and having been telling everyone going overboard about net spend and FSG to chill out for the last month, I really should be allowed just a touch of leeway on this one

I hope he learns from his mistakes on the pitch - and the indications are he has so far.

From what I've read, I don't think he's gone about trying to get a move the right way but maybe he'll learn from that too at some point. Thinking about it, maybe he has been a little too emotional about it all...

There is a difference here.

After the racism row, a lot of us in real life ended up having pretty heated debates with friends, aquintances, loved ones, randoms defending the guy in the face of spurious allegations and resulting conviction. Those were hard times. Remember the squabling on here, just within our own community?

Even with the bite, which was indefensible, we stuck by him, because he was one of us.

So for the club and the fans to have stuck by him and defended him to the hilt, for him to basically throw all that back in our collective faces all the way through the summer (until it became evident he wasn't gonna get his way) is not something I'm particularly grateful for. **** him, in that sense.
