I'm not so sure. On the evidence of last year Johnson's unlikely to get much game time, so if the article's correct and we're prepared to pay his wages I think City would be prepared to ship him out for a season.

Yes, but there is very good reason he doesn't get much time.

Agreed which is why I'm sure they'd be delighted to loan him out.

I think not unless they can significantly reduced the price we want for Agger.

Their wide options are pretty limited if they let him go regardless if he played or will play many games next year and I don't see his wages as an issue for them at all to keep him on their squad.

Doesn't appear they want Johnson if this is to be believed:

Manchester City are ready to sell Adam Johnson after agreeing terms with Swansea winger Scott Sinclair.

Roberto Mancini is willing to sanction the departure of the England international after growing frustrated in Johnson’s ability to realise his potential.

The City manager has now turned to Sinclair to fill the role of winger and impact player at Etihad Stadium.

I suppose that could make a difference but his (Adam Johnson) wages are huge and imo it would be tough to find him a club that will want to buy him as he won't take a paycut.

I am actually quite surprised that we were willing to absorb his wages for entire year if we would got him on a loan.

Adam Johnson is a classic MOTD player but he is a threat and IMO a far greater attacking threat than Sinclair. I imagine Mancini has gotten fed up with Johnson being out on the piss all the time.
                Thanks very much for being

Adam Johnson has way more talent and skills than Sinclair but he is pretty much Ryan Babel in blue.

His lack of work ethic and lazy attitude will cost him his footballing career.

Without doubt his laziness on the pitch - not tracking back - and poor attitude/unprofessionalism is what is holding him back.

Can't help but read that using Alan Hansen voice...

Knowing all that why do we think he'll do anything different if he join us..

We don't. I wouldn't be interested in him, although given the dire paucity of attacking quality at our disposal at the moment he's becoming quite tempting. Depressing.

I'd rather have Sinclair and pay him lower wages to cover his £5m fee. At least we know what to expect from him. Johnson sounds like we're making the same mistakes as the last two seasons.
                              One tit for another.
