I think that if he can stay fit then he could end up scoring 25+ league goals and make 15+ assists this season.
He is simply the most complete attacking player in the PL. He can both score and create a lot of goals. He almost work as hard as Kuyt do.
I doubt that there is that many of us that don't have him as Captain in our Fantasy PL team when we know that he will play because he could score a hattrick against whatever team we play against.Stop the cyberhate

from now on I will skip talking about our finances. That is a promise and will save myself from looking like a

Sadly I think the same.
His wife lived there when he played for Groningen and he did say that he would like to play for them.
I'm not so sure it matters. Once they start calling I think he'll leave. They will pay but he'll go.
Imo playing in La Liga for Barca (or Real) is his ultimate goal as a player..Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan clubComment

If that's the case then I can only see him being here this season. If he then goes it'll be hugely disappointingSadly I think the same.

If we can keep him for next 2 years (to help us get into CL and than year after that to make us do well in CL) I'd be very happy. Antything more would be a huge plus.
In meantime let's sit back and enjoy his talent while we can as he's something special.
Don't want LDH to lose his temper

If we're doing the business on the pitch and he's enjoying himself he'll stay here - he's obviously ambitious but if we can fulfill his ambitions, why won't he stay?
Football goes in cycles Barca are obviously brilliant but things change and not too many years ago they didn't enjoy playing us.Comment

You never know but I'm afraid that there are some major obstacles in our way and in Barca's favor. If we're doing the business on the pitch and he's enjoying himself he'll stay here - he's obviously ambitious but if we can fulfill his ambitions, why won't he stay?

Cultural similarities, language, better climate just to name few but he could feel so welcomed and comfortable in Liverpool that he may take his time and gives us few good years before he decides what to do next.Last edited by Mostar; 25-07-11, 08:44 PM.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan clubComment

he's also a LFC player at the moment - a massive stumbling block for Barca.
He's with us at the moment and no point second guessing what could or might happen, he seems to be a pretty loyal decent lad going by the reaction on his return to Ajax who even when he was leaving love him.
He also seems to have very quickly settled on the pitch and off it with people like Maxi and Lucas around, and he's an idol at LFC some players are bright enough to know their never have it better with the fans, some of course don't!
I guess we'll see in the long runComment

its not hard to see why players from South America like Spain. To think its not a very real possibility is in my opinion naive.he's also a LFC player at the moment - a massive stumbling block for Barca.

my view is that he wont get 25+ and 15+ assists. I would be happy with 15 each on that. Also we he will be a big big player for us and people in Spain will come calling. Eventually i see him going to Spain for many reasons and most of them us not really being able to counter, like climate, family reasons etc.
however for me the important thing is while he is here. He will add a hell of a lot and he will add. when he leaves we will get money to reinvest.
thats football these days. We shouldnt act surprised and hurt when a player goes. We are all happy when we get rid of deadwood but sometimes it goes both ways.
We are on a journey and he will contribute, lets enjoy it while he does and not get pissed off when its time to go.Comment

who said it's not possible? I said he seems a loyal decent lad and as long as he's enjoying himself why would he go? (it's more about leaving next summer tbh)its not hard to see why players from South America like Spain. To think its not a very real possibility is in my opinion naive.

I don't expect him to stay for his entire career but also not going to worry about him leaving just yet - we'll get a few seasons out of him at least.
