Yes, but dont admit to cheating and certainly dont admit it when his manager spends every press conference saying he isnt a cheat!

He's paid to play football and win game for us. He's done that admirably for us to date, anything else is irrelevant and Rodgers should have dismissed the question altogether. If there's PR failure it's with Rodgers. He should just have told the journalist that he wasn't going to answer the question. It's that simple.

Suarez did the right thing. He was interviewed by someone from his neck of the woods and he answered honestly.

He's going to leave in the summer.

The phrase he uses is "I invented a foul". Or at least, that's how its been translated...

Daft thing to say, but it has been heavily twisted to suit the story.

Why does it matter whom he was interviewed by?

We don't really know the context of what is being reported.

I don't rule anything out. Maybe BR thinks he could do with the 40mill we could get for him? Great excuse to get him on the exit path.

Or maybe BR is just too damn honest and forthcoming for his (and the clubs) own good.

I am pretty sure the context would have been discussed well before BR went to that press conference with Suarez

Same as 'drew the foul' surely?

Lost in translation I reckon. Or they chose to interpret into a certain tone.

Yeah that's the reason that they were desperate to give him a new contract and why BR praises him weekly and has practically made him the main man in the side.

                      Makes perfect sense

I can't remember the incident so don't have any context for my last comment. Is there a vid/gif floating about?

I shuddered at the thought of 'last time' when I typed £50m. But the way FSG are spending money now I don't see them allowing a sizeable chunk going on one player any more.

FSG might not be the most astute of footballing brains, but they're not outright thick either.

So do people think BR didn't know Suarez had taken a dive now and then ? and if he did...then this a bit hypocritical imo, it's like it's ok so long as you don't admit it, but if you do i'll take action because i'll get stick off the media otherwise ?

Why not take action when you know he's taken a dive, did Suarez really need to admit it for BR to know when he's dived ?

Rodgers had an opportunity to diffuse the situation by not answering the question. Deal with it internally but don't give ammunition to the press.

I'm pretty sure that no major action will be taken against Suarez internally. He's been asked a question by the press. Bearing in mind he's been defending Suarez constantly and saying he gets picked on, now the man himself has admitted to diving to win a game, Rodgers has to say something to get the press off their back. No comment in this case just isn't going to cut it
