    Hello!

Decided to hide during the 'we can still make 4th if a,b,c....x,y and z all happen' part of the season! Too depressing.

So on Sunday all the Liverpool supporters think Suarez should never wear a Liverpool shirt again after what he did and by Wednesday every Liverpool supporter is incensed by the ridiculous 10 game ban according to media. To be honest that's exactly what I expected the ban to be and I find it incredible that anyone thought it would be less than that. He's done it before and he has the Evra case to count against him from last year regardless of our opinion in that farce it's now fact in the FA history books.

So I won't read through the pages of discussion that basically won't make too much difference in my life. My question is this.

If we, rather ironically, qualified for the Europa League via the Fair Play space would those qualifying games count towards the 10 game ban? I'm guessing you start at the very early stages and would need to go through a few double header rounds to get to the Europa league proper. That could easily eat up the remaining 6 games of the ban and Suarez could be ready to play the first game of the Premier League season.

Do we have any chance of qualifying by that route?

I don't know about you guys but I would find that so sweet, everyone outside Anfield would be fuming haha.

      How bloody rude.

You can't be arsed to read other peoples posts because it "won't make too much difference" in your life, yet you want us to engage with you making points that have already been raised - you'd see this if you cared to take time out and listen to others.

        Raspberry finger etc. haha

Apologies, I didn't mean it that way and I hope you know that. I meant it won't make any difference to the situation we are in now and it would take me over an hour to read through all the pages created here since Sunday and in the end my question would have been the same and I'm unlikely to say anything that would change anyone's opinion and unlikely to read anything that would change my opinion.

I want him to stay, the ban isn't going to be reduced, it would be ironic and funny if we qualified to Europa through the fair play place and doubly ironic if that qualification used up the remainder of the ban imposed so that Suarez can play in the Premier League in August.

Hope I've written that in a slightly better way without unintentionally insulting you or anyone else Lee

Only the squad mind you, he'd never make it into a Liverpool starting 11.

You clearly didn't read the thread then, very few wanted him gone, and most now are still angry with him but feel the ban is excessive.

No I didn't read the thread. I was relating how we have been portrayed in the media. They make us sound very fickle.

One thing for sure. We know we will either be playing the Chavs away or the Scum away on Luis' return

the way i see it, many of the english media, fans and the governing body have a strange view of their own game.
there's still this image of the game being played by men who play a physical game, accept over the top tackles as part of the game, run their pain off and are generally fair and don't cheat. it's an idealised image of the game and in reality it's never been that way.
that loss of "english values" seems to be blamed on foreign players who are suspected to have brought many great things to the english game but also of having introduced diving, cheating and a softy approach.
and you can see that after pretty much every petty incident on the field: cries of outrage, of disgrace and shame and calls for draconian actions are rife with journalists and fans alike. if english players are guilty of a behaviour usually attachted to foreigners then they're usually cut some slack as if it wasn't in their "nature" to dive but just copy the behaviour of others.

the fa aren't anti liverpool, run by fergie, or anti suarez. they're pretty much like a populist party - they react to the suspected feeling of the majority and act accordingly. they can't keep a cool head and remove their emotions from their reasoning.

that's the way i see it. i don't live in england and i'm not english.

We should start a petition on the no 10 website for the FA to be subject to a parliamentary investigation. I've seen plenty of reasons listed above to justify the terms of the inquiry, plus it would get to 100,000 votes in no time.
