Not if the manager get all the money to spend when he sell a player plus the backing from the owner.
It is a part of the job to have a plan B in place before a player leave. You simply can't go into a new season building the team around one player because you simply don't know what could happen.Stop the cyberhate

You don't half talk some rubbish, Arn..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.Comment

Well, Liverpool FC deserves a world class manager. We shouldn't sign up a manager that can't take us back to the top and only a world class manager that is backed by FSG can do that.
If Rodgers isn't good enough then he will sooner or later get sacked and we will have to start all over again with a new manager.
Get in a top class manager and the chance that happening is much less.Stop the cyberhate

Obviously you have to have a plan for when players leave but on the flip side the reason it is plan B is usually because it is less good than plan A.Not if the manager get all the money to spend when he sell a player plus the backing from the owner.

I don't think we are building the team around one player, or that anyone is advocating that we do. Simply that if you are going to have several options then one of them being one of the worlds best players is preferable to that not being the case."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

It depends what we do with the money we'll get if he goes + summer budget + other sales..I think we're totally screwed if Suarez leaves. There is absolutely no chance we'd get a top four spot after finishing 7th and losing our best player. It was already unlikely WITH Suarez, but without him it seems impossible to me.
It'll be another season to write off before it even begins IMO. Can't keep taking one step forward, two steps back, but I'm afraid we'll be stuck in this situation of losing our best players every summer if we can't make drastic progress.
Luis 40m (we could get more)
Skrtel 12m
Pepe 15m (I wouldn't sell for less)
Carroll 15m
Coates 4m
Spearing 1.5m-2m
Assidi 2.5m
Summer budget 20m-25m
With 110m-115m we could do really well this summer...
* Didn't include Downing but he could fetch 6-9m probably if we do decide to sellMember #1 of the Luis Suarez fan clubComment
