I wouldn't pay big money for players who've only done it for one season. Been no end of players who had one good season and then got found out.

I don't mind taking a chance on those types of players, but I wouldn't spend a massive amount on them, and that's what it would take to get Benteke.
    Forwards.......

We've still got Andy Carroll if he leaves. It'll be like having a new striker on the books.
      Are we winning?

Like I've said if we're going to sell him we need to be looking at upwards of £50 mil minimum here.

He's not even in his prime yet and is only going to get better. Start the bidding at £50 mil and aim for £60 - £70.

You know how negotiations work right, Slinks?

The seller starts at the high point, the buyer at the low point. Not the other way round.

We want 50m or no sale! We'll give you 60m and not a penny less!

Suarez is at his peak and needs to be winning things in the next 2/3 years before he starts declining. This club won't be challenging for major honours for at least the next 2/3 years, we just ain't ready yet. That is not a criticism of either partly, it's just where we are at this moment in time.

Aye, think I will donate him to my own team for that price! Reckon he has the potential to tear up lower league Danish footy. Of course he needs to get used to our system and style of play first and settle in with the culture, but after that he could really make it big!

Its a vicious cycle.....sell your best player every 2 years and we will forever be 2 or 3 years away.....

                            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

We'll be lucky to get £40million. The clause (if it exists) has saved us from being forced to sell for less! Real are good at screwing us over, this clause is some form of firewall against that.
