The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

No, we sold him to Real for £70m and bought Carroll back from West Ham for £55m.

At the moment I can only see the press trying to make a story from nothing. All gone quiet now the special one is in town, someone else to fill column spaces.

We should wait and see what happens when he gets back before we condemn him to the devil's flames for all eternity.

Problem with Luis is that whilst he complains at being shot at by the media, he's always the one providing them with the bullets. Whilst we'd be naive to think there's no anti-LFC agenda with some journos, fact of the matter is that if he avoided controversy they wouldn't have a bad word to say about him. The infuriating thing is that had he not bitten Ivanovic, I fancy he'd have won the football writers award and would have finally booted the anti Suarez agenda into touch.

But whilst its all mostly his doing, put yourself in his shoes. A fresh start at the biggest club in the world, who dictate what all the press say about them anyway, it's a great deal for him. No doubt he'd have a kid run up to him at the unveiling and he'll give the kid a cuddle to show he's really a nice guy. Standard stuff at Real.

I do pray for a Stevie type PC though where he says he couldn't leave and stays. He's simply too good to wish him to leave.

it seems that most high profile players who want out to real or barca whore monger with the paps to engineer a move, even before the agent has spoken to the club and the other team has had the official nod to speak to the player.

Now I know tapping up goes a lot. Even Liverpool do it. Speak to the player and the player's agent before going to the club.

But I've never known many clubs do it the way Real and Barca do. They seem to unsettle the player, get the player to demand a move, sit back for a couple months then come in during the last few weeks of the window as they hope to have driven the price so far down due to the player alienating himself from his current club. It's pretty **** really

Who cares about FFP when you can get the Govt or Royal Family to bail you out.

Didn't Madrid get some £300m odd debt written off years ago? Not sure if Barca get handouts the same way Real do.

Have no sympathy really for Barca when some of the kids from their academies get poached. These two take tapping up to a whole different level

It is life, would you not try everything you could if you really wanted that sports car down at the dealers? would you not haggle and try every trick you could to get it? or just pay the first price they demand.
