With the imminent signing of Mikhi + Mignoloet that means we will have spent 45m on attacking players + a keeper without addressing defensive/midfield issues which means

a) We are minted and the talk of 50m transfer kitty was off the mark
b) Rodgers is planning on scoring 5+ goals a game
c) We are selling suarez

I can see your thinking but there will be other sources of money coming in so I'm not as convinced that it is a foregone conclusion as some. Carroll will hopefully raise £15m, and if we sign Mignolet then that presumably means Pepe is off that's probably £25-30m back there plus the sales of a few others, I'd expect us to have a net spend of ~£20-25m anyway so I still think we could make than without selling Suarez.

I think the key factor in Suarez staying or going is going to be if someone is prepared to pay our asking price. I think it is important for FSG to make a stand and ensure than if Suarez does leave it is on our terms, as we don't want to come across as a soft touch otherwise we'll never get back to the top.
