I think the fall out from the racism incident was handled badly. We made a right mess of it with the statements and then not following it through. Think there was a lot of heart ruling the head by the likes of Ayre, Kenny etc. No doubt it contributed negatively to the club image, but not as negatively as the actual incident.Comment

Not sure how it's a major overstatement. I said the racist incident tarnished the image of the club. Not sure how anyone could disagree with that. It's not about sponsors or anything. It's about how the club is viewed by outside people.
The club was told it was supporting a racist, regular comments on tv, radio etc saying we should have sacked him and are supporting racism by not doing so. Stuff along those lines.Comment

Our 1st X1 will not be made up of promising youngsters...... We have a decent mix of young and senior at the moment and some of them youngsters have had sufficient exposure to the PL for them to offer significantly more this coming season.Realistically we are not climbing the table signing promising youngsters. There is reason certain proven players cost a lot of money. Because they deliver. Arsenal went from regularly being champions to scraping top 4 every year with that approach, one that seemingly is being abandoned this summer.
Granted a marquees signing or two might help things along but I don't believe that progress up the table is at all a forlorn hope...... With or without Suarez.Comment

Not sure you can criticise the club so far for how they have handled this
Suarez is really ****ing us over (or at least trying his best to)
Must admit getting tired of this circus, feel pretty much the same as when Owen and Torres were nearing the exit door
Such a shame as hes a great player but a total ****ing bellBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."Comment

Whilst the club handled the whole issue badly I think you have to take a step back and say if Suarez hadnt of said what he did to Evra there wouldnt have been any issue to deal with in the first placeBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. Yup. People can quote cultural differences all they want. He still racially abused (or used inappropriate language) towards another player, stuck his finger up at the Fulham fans and bit another player. He's only got himself to blame.
Still, the guy is ****ing brilliant at the playing part. It's inevitable by the looks of things but I'll miss him megging defenders and slaloming about. Best striker if that style I've seen in my lifetime.A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.Comment

Well, you know that I think that we should have said no comments every day until we got the verdict. We didn't.
I don't blame Suarez saying what he said to Evra because I don't know what he said. I don't believe what Evra said about it because he changed his version many times. Suarez didn't.
IMO Evra and United saw a chance to unsettle our best player. We also know that Suarez never got a fair chance in the case because we messed his defense up and we was up against DBF and United. You can't blame the player for the way the club handled the defense.
We made a mess when we defended him and we made a mess trying to protect him.Last edited by Arn; 10-07-13, 11:53 AM.Stop the cyberhate
