Fine player is Suarez, but the comparison is, shall we say, ****ing ridiculous IMO.

Messi is in the league of his own and any comparison is silly to say at least.http://www.football365.com/news/2155...isons-To-Messi

There isn't anybody remotely as good as he is and it probably won't be for a long time.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan clubComment

Still........when things like this are coming up in the media, its a decent sign he's doing the business.
Would we like to see more of his national team exploits being reproduced for us ? Of course. Sure its only a matter of time, patience and luck.

Messi didn't start to score a lot of goals until he was moved into the middle of the attack and didn't need to do almost no defensive work at all.
Villa is a big reason to why Messi score a lot of goals. He do the defensive work that Messi should do.
Messi can concentrate 100% on the attack. Suarez can't do that. He must work his socks off chasing the ball and press the opposition.
It is a big difference.
I'm 99% sure that Suarez would score a lot more goals if he only needed to concentrate on the attack and not work his socks off.
When Messi play for Argentina then he very often drop deep to pick up the ball. He don't have a Xavi, Iniesta or Villa helping him out. The result? He score a lot less goals. He must also chase the ball and press the opposition much more when he play for the national team. The result? He score a lot less goals.
Replace Messi with Suarez at Barcelona and Suarez would IMO score almost the same number of goals.

Messi's highest league goals season was when Villa was still at Valencia.
I think you are doing Messi a massive dis-service there aswell, he works his bollocks off. I dont think Suarez would take kindly to being told to stop pressing the opposition or whatever either, its what he's about, defend from the front might be a cliche but its true.
I dont think it has to be one or the other really. He's created chances by chasing defenders and forcing them in to mistakes. Keeping the ball better so we have to do less chasing would be nice though.Comment
