And who will you buy with that money if you do? If we're unwilling to pay ongoing wage rate for top, top player you will not be seeing Cavani, Hazard etc. even if we can afford the transfer fee..
He is not for sale for me. He will get better as he is mentally strong and I expect him next year to tear the league apart..
Absolutely. I'd pull Daniel Levy on him if I have to. Not for sale.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan clubComment

I'm sure we would consider what it would take to build a team around Carroll.
I'm thinking a more mobile midfield with a big ass striker up front (Porto style).
Or we can just buy Hulk who looks ****ing good. Was muComment

I get what Darkon is saying. But we are looking to rebuild and become a force again. You don't do that by selling your best players. Although, the money they are offering is a tidy sum, whos to say that the owners don't have that cash behind them.*Except Michael, who died.Comment

Is this the PSG thing were all on about here, 50mill Euros is the figure, so not that tidy is it ?Comment

I'd rather we build a team around Suarez and that means players with faster feet and brains such as Cavani, Hulk, Hazard and Lucas.
We can't expect to progress with such pedestrian build up play. Was muComment

I expected that this year, and as good as he is, he does not score enough goals. He should be near the top of the charts with the chances he has squandered. And who will you buy with that money if you do? Sure, he will have a purple patch here and there, but his finishing is too eratic imo. £50m? Yes, as long as we have a replacement who can score goals.Oh I don't know.Comment

In this case it's much more than just selling your best player.
It would almost feel that Mr. Fergie won if we sell him this summer and I personally would be very disappointed if we decide to put him on the chopping block.
He is our best player and instead of selling we should be buying few genuine quality players to get the best out of him and give him a chance to truly shine as he has skill set to be the best player in PL and takes us places in process.Last edited by Mostar; 16-02-12, 04:03 PM.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan clubComment

So so true. We are painfully slow in our build-up. Frustrating or what."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob PaisleyComment

If we don't want to pay top money, we have no chance of holding on to Suarez in the long run if he is a top top player, so it's a self defeating way of thinking IMO.And who will you buy with that money if you do? I'm not sure who exactly I would buy and I don't really fint it helpfull to just namedrop, but looking at a lot of footy around Europe and I see plenty of strikers that look to be at least as good for less money.Comment

I don't give a s*** about what it means to Fergie, if he feel he has one then so what? If we don't sell him for a huge sum that could improve our overall team because Ferguson believes he shouldn't play for us, we would be shooting ourselves in the foot just to defy Ferguson - makes no sense tbh.In case it much more than just selling your best player.

The key is if we could get a replacement that can score goals, and that's really down to the market.

There is so much more to Luis game than scoring goals and even though he should be definitely putting more in the net he is not out and out type of a striker.I expected that this year, and as good as he is, he does not score enough goals. Also who is he playing with atm. He rarely played with Stevie and the types of players that he has been surrounded this and last year will hardly get the best out of him or any other top class footballer.
Let's buy Cavani types of a striker and Goetze/Hazard type of AM and let's see what happens with his goal production and level of his game in general.
He barely scratched the surface in terms of what he can offer to this team and I wouldn't sell him under no circumstances.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan clubComment
