I don't see how this would really make him much more tired in the long run than anyone who went to the Euros? Ultimately they'll have played the same amount of competitive football in a 12 month period. Anyway, given our (tough) start, the possibility of having Suarez extra-sharp in those fixtures could be worth any later consequences.

Besides, its not beyond the realms of possibility that Luis will manage to do something silly at some point of the season to get himself a few games break...

I didn't realise it finished a week before the start of the season, i had it in my head it was only 2/3 days before. Still, I'm just praying he doesn't get any injuries or our start could get a lot more difficult.

Im more annoyed that Coates is going to be in the Squad. He would have been perfect in those qualifiers.

To be fair the Olympics will do him more good than the qualifiers. Only negative is that Rodgers could have had a proper look at him; be more likely to have him as 3rd Choice ahead of Carra - but then again he may already have his mind made up.
