    But we don't.

I'm obviously making this point poorly

He's great at what he does, but he's inconsistent and wasteful, that can't be argued against, therefore it follows that if we want to progress we need people who will finish the ones he's currently doesn't.

It wasn't an attack on Luis.

yes but that doesnt show the complete pctiure you also need to add in TGSACHBACG.(Total goals scored and created himself by being a complete genius )

I actually agree he can be wasteful, but I find it hard to criticise him, since often he's missing a chance he's created himself from **** all.

We need him playing like he did yesterday for most of the season if we're going to improve on last year. Whilst I think we'd benefit from a striker in the traditional sense like you seem to be wanting G, like a classic finisher, Van Nistelrooy style I definitely don't want to bring anyone in that means we're playing Luis differently. He's too good to be moved to accomodate another player. If this means playing 352 like the 2nd half yesterday then fine.

It also doesn't show the number of games players didn't score in, which as we all know, is the key statistic when evaluating goal scoring forwards these days

He plays off a striker for his country and it hasn't harmed his goalscoring efforts for them. He has a better record with them then us.

I think it'd do him the world of good to be playing off a number 9 like Dzeko or Cavani.

You're probably right, but neither of them are available for the sort of money we haven't got!

Just being a **** now mate.I'll leave you to it,you're good at it.

Its not a key statistic but its all part of determining how well a player is doing.

That would also mean us changing formation, which I really can't see us doing. Rodgers is a staunch 4-3-3 man.

If we do buy an archetypal striker in January, it'll be interesting to see how we line up. I could see us buying someone to offer backup, and spending more on a goal scoring wide forward - like Walcott for example (who can also play up front if required).

The burden shouldn't all be on Suarez, but calling a rate of 0.67/1 good is underselling it badly.

I do think there's room in Rodger's vision for a number 9. It would just mean shifting Suarez to the left of the front three, where he plays for Uruguay mostly:

Suarez - Dzeko etc - Sterling

I think Suarez can get just as many goals from that position too as he's absolutely magic at dribbling into the box from the wide areas.

Not really,Suarez goes wide which is more natural for him I believe and Sterling or whoever wide right

I'd spaff my ****ty Calvins if we signed a striker of Dzeko's ilk, but can anyone seriously see it?

Llorente is off to Juve apparently, he'd be the only one of that sort of standard we could afford due to the contract situation.

I'd have Walcott, he's a good finisher these days, could he play through the middle? Possibly but he's not a classic number 9 is he?

I'm not one of them try hard super hipster ******s that watch every league in the world and rave about the Bundesliga being the best thing since Athletic Bilbao last season so to be honest I don't know who else there is out there for about 10-15m that i'd imagine our budget is?
