Think a lot of people were burnt from the Torres affair. Loads loved him, so I guess its like being dumped. Takes a while to trust again.

I think Alex has nailed it; Torres had made me feel like a youff falling in love with football all over again. The way he left hammered home the money aspect to the beautiful game and it was almost like I became cynical from there on out. Suarez came and whilst he was (and is) a terrific footballer, he was just another head on the wage bill.
But watching his pure tenacity, desire and will to win this season - combined with his efforts last season - has meant that Suarez has reignited that passion within me again.
So when, or if, he leaves, expect me to to be cold towards our next striker.

Liverpool must convince Luis Suarez that his Champions League ambitions are best served by remaining at Anfield if they are to keep their leading goalscorer from pursuing a summer move to Juventus or Bayern Munich. The Uruguay international is aware of the interest from two of Europe'a most powerful clubs and is considering his future at Liverpool.
Though not unhappy at Anfield where he has claimed 22 goals from 32 Premier League, Suarez is conscious the club is set to miss out on Champions League qualification for a fourth successive season. It is not a state of affairs Suarez expected when he signed for Liverpool in 2011, and one he attributes to a lack of intelligent investment.
Privately, the 26-year-old considers Liverpool's first team short of the quality required first to win a place in Europe's elite club competition then prosper within it. He has been unimpressed with several of the expensive additions since his own arrival and believes more individuals are required of the level of Steven Gerrard and Philippe Coutinho. Without assurances that Liverpool will invest heavily this summer it is expected that Suarez will ask to leave.
Liverpool's transfer strategy is partly dependent on achieving income from sales, particularly that of Andy Carroll who has been loaned out to West Ham United this season. The club's American owners, Fenway Sports Group, are understood to have earmarked around £25m of new funds for the summer market.
Though Suarez agreed an improved Anfield contract in August it will be hard for Liverpool to retain the player should he decide he wants a change of club. Both Bayern and Juve have the financial wherewithal to pay a substantial transfer fee and further increase the forward's wages. One of Bayern's advantages is that Suarez's agent is the brother of their incoming coach Pep Guardiola. Juve will play on his friendship with fellow Uruguay international Martin Caceres.
"I am very happy at Liverpool but you never know in football," said Suarez recently. "If another team comes around with more prospects of competing in international club competition games, which is willing to have me, they are welcome. We would talk to the club. We would see if I want to go, if I don't want to go."
