What?????
The anniversary was a week ago today, and with the minute's silence including Hillsborough campaigner Anne Williams, the focus should've been on her (as well as Rafa's return to Anfield). Instead, it's all about Suarez for the wrong reasons.
It's the most fitting thing he/the club could do with the money.
Ayre and Rodgers have been excellent in handling this so far.Comment

I have to say, out of all the ex-players it's always Barnes does talks the most sense. Down to earth and non-agenda driven. Love him.
Also, as a side note, we should be supporting our best player and talisman. Some people on here should hang their head in shame for taking the same stance as the likes of Gordon Taylor and David Davies.
There's alot of people that want Suarez out of Liverpool for their own agenda (ie get rid of our best player; similar to what we want to happen to Bale and Tottenham) and are completely blowing this out proportion in order to do that.
We need to stand by him. He scored the equaliser in 96th minute ffs. Some of the downbeat posts on here are quite frankly embarrassing. Did he bite your mother?? We've all done **** we're not proud of.
To want to sell Suarez is probably the thickest **** I've ever heard in my life.Comment

Liverpool FC managing director Ian Ayre today provided an update on the incident that occurred involving Luis Suarez during Sunday's game with Chelsea. Here is what he had to say in full.
Ian, everyone is still talking about Sunday's incident with Luis Suarez. What is the latest on the situation?
I think the most important thing is that we acted swiftly yesterday. Luis issued his apology and then we spoke with him last night and then again this morning. We've taken action to fine Luis for his actions. Brendan has spoken to him and I've spoken to him, and Brendan will be working with him further on his discipline. You can see when you speak to him how sorry he is about it and he's certainly shown quite a lot of contrition to us - and as part of that, he's also asked we donate the fine to the Hillsborough Family Support Group. I think he felt like he let a lot of people down yesterday. We'll work with Luis - Brendan particularly - on this side of his character in his game. Hopefully that puts the matter to rest from our point of view and we'll wait and see if there's any further action from the football authorities.
Have you had any contact with the owners regarding this situation?
Yes, of course. With any incident like this, any major incident at the club, we're in direct dialogue with the owners, always. I spoke to them last night and they were happy with the way we were handling the matter.
Will the events of the last 24 hours have any bearing on Luis's future at Liverpool Football Club?
Not at all. It affects his future in the sense that we have to work with him on his discipline - but Luis is a very important player to the club. He's a very popular player with his teammates. As we keep saying, he signed a new four-year contract last summer and we'd all love to see him here throughout that contract. He's a fantastic player, top scorer and everything we'd want in a striker, so there's no change there. This is more about getting him back on the right track and it's largely down to Brendan now to work with him on that side of his character.Comment

Cantona made one very big mistake. He behaved very good after that. You can't say the same thing about Suarez.
How many times will we back him when he do things like this before we sell him.
One question.
Do you believe that Suarez won't do something like this again?Stop the cyberhate

from now on I will skip talking about our finances. That is a promise and will save myself from looking like a

A fine isn't enough IMO. We should have banned him the rest of the season.
The FA will most probably do it anyway so we should have done it before they do it.Stop the cyberhate
