So, if we've established that FSG are funding a massive squad overhaul, I think it's fair to say they're building that squad with Champions League football in mind. So that when we *do* qualify, we can cope with domestic AND European football and qualify the following year too.

Suarez is a hiccup; a player who is entering his prime and wants to play his best football in the Champions League. Whether he goes or stays, I'm pretty sure we'll replace him and continue our target of qualifying for the Champions League.

IMO of course if Coutinho plays at least as good as last season for us then Barcelona and Real Madrid will do everything they can to unsettle him.

The fact is that it's going to take time to repair the damage that Rafa did in his final season but we'll get there in the end. If a couple leave along the way I'm sure there are enough great, untapped gems about to replace them with.

It is a big risk they would try do that if he play at least as good as last season.

That implies that a player who signed for us 6 months ago, when we were not in the CL and defo not going to be in it the next year, will want to leave in 12 months time if we don't qualify. Not that he will want to leave if RM or Barca come in for him, but because of our CL status. Now you have no real idea what Coutinho would think about Madrid or Barca, your opinion on that is 100% speculative, but regardless that isn't the point you were making, you were talking about us coming 4th.
