            Nooooo.

It was a reference to the posh thing in the norbs thread. Certainly not meant to offend.

To me, Suarez isn't a Liverpool player anymore. He's a cunt and I genuinely wish he would **** off. It's one thing to want to move to Real Madrid, but to piss and moan about England and then want to go to Arsenal?

Glad I never emotionally attached to this player.

Uruguayan expats in London plan huge party for Luis Suarez if he moves to Arsenal

URUGUAYAN expats in London are planning a huge welcome celebration for the possible transfer of Luis Suarez from Liverpool to Arsenal.

                    By: Ted Jeory

The small community of some 400 Uruguayans in London would greet him at their next gathering, the celebrations of the country’s Independence Day on August 25.

Although invited by Ambassador Julio Moreira Morán for the past two years, he has been unable to attend due to commitments in Liverpool.

However, a move to Arsenal would make it easier for him.

Football is our country’s first religion, so to have Suarez here would be wonderful.

Renowned photojournalist Julio Etchart, who moved to the British capital from Montevideo in Uruguay 40 years ago, said Suarez had the opportunity to galvanise other expats in London.

He said: “We would love to see him at the Embassy. It’s a very special occasion and he would be very welcome.

“Football is our country’s first religion, so to have Suarez here would be wonderful.

“He’s had his problems, but from what I understand, he’s a lovely guy, although perhaps insecure from something in his childhood and a bit temperamental as well as being an ungratefu llittle arsehole.

“When he went to Liverpool, I was really pleased for him, but I think he now needs a bigger club.”

Liverpool have rejected an unusual offer of £40million and £1, an amount which triggered a clause in the striker’s contract allowing him to talk to Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.

Controversial Suarez, who is currently serving a 10-match for biting the arm of Chelsea player Branislav Ivanovic last season, is valued at least £50million by Liverpool.

It is believed his preferred destination is Real Madrid, but the Spanish giants have yet to make an offer.

In the meantime, that is forcing Suarez to concentrate his mind on a possible life in London.

Mr Etchart said Suarez would be joining a small community of compatriots, most of whom are academics, students on exchange visits, and artists.

They do not live in a concentrated area so there is nowhere in London known as Little Uruguay.

Neither are there any Uruguyan restaurants, although the Camden Brasserie in north London is run by two brothers from Uruguay.

Uruguay, a country the size of England Wales, has a population of just 3.3million, a figure largely unchanged for decades.

Its cuisine is typical of many South American countries and is particularly noted for its ‘chivitos’ restaurants.

A chivito is described as a “delicious heart attack of a steak sandwich” with bacon, ham, egg, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayonnaise as extras.

Mr Etchart, a human rights activist who was exiled to London after a military coup in his home country in 1973, himself lives in Stoke Newington, not far from Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium in north London.

He would also help Suarez in his cultural demands by welcoming him to his next exhibition in September – a series of photos at Amnesty International’s Human Rights Centre in September taken in Chile during the years of late dictator Augusto Pinochet.

The footballer might also wish to become a member of the British Uruguayan Society, which had a reputation for annual receptions in Canning House in Belgrave Square, but which is not as active as it once was.

I still don't think he'll move to Arsenal. Makes no sense.

Madrid don't yet appear to be interested either.

                        He's staying.

Why not. It's pretty cultural. I didn't know what the preferred food in Uruguay was. Think it's quite insightful

Will be lovely to see him in the dressing room with his fellow Gooners after the last game of the season celebrating with a bottle of champagne holding it aloft like a trophy...having just finished 4th....again
