Is it not a bit odd that we've bid for Costa, but Arsenal seem to be pursuing no other targets ? are they really that stupid or that confident ?

I think they will return with a bid of 55mill, but Ayre has pretty much said 'not to Arsenal at any price' hasn't he ?

I think it depends if Madrid or someone bigger than Arsenal come in for him, if that happens I think he's certain to leave.

will no doubt be involved in some sort of ugly incident again this season - even if he is 100% innocent, something somewhere will happen.
come january window and if he stays next summer - we will just be going through all this again

When i look at all that, then in if we could get the money and signings in like the below id do it

Sell Suarez (£50m to english side, £45m to foriegn side)

Costa £22m
Papadoupolous £12m
Cissokho or another LB for £2m

plus spend the remaining £10m to £15m on a new centre mid

do it - squad overall will be stronger and they would be a real buzz and excitement about the place with no negative issues
