Biting someone should be punished with a four or five game ban. A tackle like the one Gerrard did many many years ago is much worse and should be punished with at least a ten game ban.

If you spit on someone should you then be punished with a ten game ban because that don't happen that often?

Biting should be stamped out but two footed tackles is something much much worse and that is really something that must be stamped out.
It was a bad challenge. But that is heat of the moment in a Derby game. But he's still playing football.

Like MrM said, the ban for Suarez was probably OTT but the bite was a much worse an incident compared to the tackle by Gerrard. It just isn't normal adult behaviour I'm afraid.

Im sorry Arn but you are totally wrong.

A two footed tackle like that can be put down to human error. A bit can only be put down to a calculated thing. You dont bite on reflex. But a rash tackle can be.

I dont see how anyone can get the severity mixed up.

So let me get this straight

Spitting is a worst offence than biting?

        Wow

Two footed tackling is potentially more career threatening than biting you are right but I can sort of understand that in a game scenario. Rush of blood to the head and all that

Spitting and biting for me is on another planet though its ****ing childish and frankly disgusting

Biting is something I never saw when I played as a young man, spitting yes, two footed tackles most weeks yes but biting - never and I played in some rough leagues as a young man

In football you are supposed to tackle people to win the ball. Players, naturally, mistime or go over the top in their aggression in such tackles from time to time, and rightly get yellow/red carded if they do.

No form of a bite is acceptable in football, or indeed in any sport, you do not nip someone slightly with your teeth to win the ball. That is not to say that banning Suarez for 10 games was not OTT, as it was, but to deny that Suarez was a dick for biting someone, and doubly a dick for having done it twice in his career, is just ridiculous and shouldn't be attempted imo.
I don't see a bite worse than making a two footed tackle. Every two footed tackle should be a straight red card and it shouldn't matter if you win the ball. The injury risk is simply to big.

You know what you are doing when you make a two footed tackle and you know what you are doing when you bite someone.

It isn't football making a two footed tackle. It isn't football biting someone.

Tackles is a part of the game but not two footed ones.

So whilst I might not agree or excuse some of his behaviour on the pitch, the reality is that the one thing that really matters and the main reason he is a ‘cunt’ is because he wants to leave the club, and the abuse from some fans and their determination to paint him in the worst possible light at every opportunity makes them more of a cunt IMO, than a player wanting to leave the club.

Just what we need Arn, a break from the 'will he wont he leave' debate.

Arn, I think you're confusing it with what causes more damage though. But in reality one is part of football and the other should not be carried out by anyone, especially an adult

Hmmm not sure about that Arn

Two footed tackles can be down to human error, rush of blood etc on rare occasions you could probably accuse the offender of protecting himself

Biting is not any of those

That is not in any way going to detract from Suarez as a player but its just a totally ****house thing to do imo

I used to be livid if my boy bit me or someone else. It's as painful as fcuk too

Seriously don't get what your agenda is Arn. If you are so disenchanted with all things Liverpool, and that is what comes over in all of your negative dialogue in every thread repeated ad nauseum, then think about not suppoting us anymore.
