It is just laughable that Rodgers talks about loyalty when he himself really don't give a **** about it as long as it suits him. Look at the way he talked before he joined Reading and when he promised not to sign any player from Swansea. Didn't give a **** about it and instead signed Allen for £15m.
As you said. The club will do what is best for the club, as they should do, whatever it takes. Suarez will do what is best for him, as he should do.

No, I just don't see him as anything else than just another manager that is after personal glory. I don't think he love the club etc.
He will give 100% for the club as long as he is our manager but loyalty isn't really anything that would stop him joining Real Madrid or Barcelona if they wanted him IMO even that the club supported him.Stop the cyberhate

Verbal discussions and gentlemen's agreements can be binding in theory but in a situation where two sophisticated parties (legally speaking) put a written contract together and subsequently dispute it then the unwritten part generally won't hold any water in court. Otherwise why have a written contract at all?
It's a bit of a smokescreen though as it's only a threat to apply pressure. He's just making sure we can't play him again. He's only doing what he does, this is probably quite genteel stuff considering his upbringing.
