We get to qualify for a few games in a tournament we realistically have little chance of winning. One that seems a charade until the knockout phase. Yet I grudgingly accept the mere mention of the words....champions league.... Is effectively the holy grail these days. I just want to win the ****ing league again. Yet again I accept to get the players required you need CL. Its a vicious circle of ****ness. Why do I bother caring. Not sure I do really.

          It could but (a) it would be less witty and (b) it's essentially the inverse of the solution to the classic problem, "How many bikes should I own?"

          The answer of course = n + 1

          ...where n = the number of bikes I currently own.

          So the problem of how many wives I should have = w - 1

          ...where w ≥ 1 and = the number of wives I currently have.

          Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

          May the Lord bless this post.

                    I had a wife who would actively discourage my collection of guitars and guitar equipment - it was an irrational dislike of the instrument and all the boss stuff you can buy with it. She was like (where w = wife)

                    w = g-1 as well as w= e-100000000, where e = my enjoyment of life.

                    I'm sure if she saw this post, she'd think "Awwww. He loved guitars. The ****"

                              Clearly the guitar was merely a symbol, a cipher, a substitute, a totem, a glyph. Did she want you to settle down, and leave behind your wild rock days/ways? Was she threatened by your attachment to guitars? Did she want you to spend your time and money on other things, on her, on holidays, on work, on a house, on achieving, on work, on prostitutes, on penis enlargement surgery?

                              I hate to break it to you but essentially the guitar was you. She was rejecting you, Daniel Poodle.
