That said we don't have to offer him a new contract or increase his wages and I personally would not do that just yet as I do not believe that would address any of our concerns about his desire to leave next summer.

I'd wait to see how this season pans out first and see if we'll get into CL or not (he'll still have 2 years left on his existing contract at that time) and then do what is in the best interest of the club as clearly Luis is trying to do the same for himself.

Sturridge not world class? Or Gerrard? Agger? How about Mig? Best goalie in the premier league so far imo. That counts for something.
      Oh I don't know.

Mignolet is a good goalkeeper but at this point he is not even Belgium first choice.

He is going in the right direction but it is way too early to consider him world class.

Suarez is our only consistently world-class player. Gerrard on his day, still world-class, but those days are getting fewer as he ages. Agger and Mig are a tier below world class.

Next closest to world-class consistency is Sturridge, who still has a higher gear or two in him to go I believe.

All in my armchair opinion, of course.

Agree on the one in bold.

Don't agree on Gerrard being world class any longer as to be considered that you have to be consistently good and he, regardless if most want to admit or not, past his peak.

Imo He was world class at one point in time in the position he used to play. He is a good player in the position he plays now.

Wow Mo, you lost me right there mate. Stevie is still world class IMO, really don't even think its a point to discuss.

Gerrard's world-class on his day, problem is he doesn't have those days very often.

Its only sentimentalism that categorises Gerrard as world class. Its gone now, he's a good central midfielder, but still LFC's talisman

                      Its the passage of time.

It really isn't. Let's just go back to Sunday and that pass to Sturridge. His consistent dangerous delivery from wide positions as well, and his range of passing ensure his status as a world class player.

There's more to being world class than hitting a long crossfield ball though Tee.

His consistency isn't high enough to be world class, it just isn't. Time has caught up with him and he looks nothing more than very good player with his best days behind him.

It happens to them all. Its nice to support him and remember what he was, but thats gone now.

Ok so he has the ability to produce world class moments yet is still only just a very good player. I get that.
