I tend to think all of the top end fees are inflated by willy waving rather than the actual value to a team. I would certainly guess that you could get two excellent attacking players for £30m each.

Look at the teams who are likely to try to sign him though. Two £30m players might represent modest improvement over what they have at best. They already have those sorts of players. A single £60m player to a team like that represents a bigger step up in the quality they can field.

If we don't make the CL it certainly won't be due to a lack of effort on Suarez's part. If he decides to leave for one of the big Spanish clubs in the summer then it'll be a huge blow for us, but understandable. He's totally irreplaceable, but he should be playing in the CL.

In recent times we have been spoiled with some of the worlds best talent. Torres, Alonso, mascherano, Suarez are all top quality players who have come in from abroad and given us plenty of great moments.
