One of the top 3 or 4 players on the planet cannot be replaced by 4 or 5 average players, anything less than proper world class talent means we're regressing. £100m is silly money, the only way to make it a positive is to replace him with 2 players from the very top level. It may be difficult to attract them, but thats what we'll need to do if Luis goes.

I wonder if the club see this summer as a maximum return on him as his value is likely to be the highest?

Interesting point that, I think as proven with last Summer a big part of when he goes is when we're happy to sell.

Barca are banned from signing players after this window aren't they? if so, for them its now or never for Luis.

I don't want him to go, but a ££££fight between Barca & Real could be very profitable for LFC; Madrid know that Barca cannot sign anyone in 2015 so I can see them attempting to jack the price up that Barca have to pay to stop them buying too many players

I raised the 'peak value' question a while back and am still nursing the wounds

Barca appealed that ban and won.

We shouldn't be in a position where we are forced to sell our prize assets. We won't get to where we want to be if that's the case.

We should move heaven and earth to get the lad Hhhhhames Martinez from Monaco if Luis leaves.

Or Draxler, I'd be happy with Draxler.

Draxler, Reus and Sanchez would soften the blow.

Its a nonsense stroy from the Mirror who obviously want to unsettle him.

He acknowledges he was voted for and the season was OK but makes specific reference to pre England game when he was minding his own and fat dinosaur extraordinaire Roy Bodgson has a pop with the laughable suggestion that he is not world class.

@TonyBarretTimes: @RobHarris You've got the wrong end of the stick on this one Rob. His anger relates to one front page in one paper. It's very specific.

Twitter rumours are that Falcao has got a pre-agreement with Real Madrid and that a deal will be officially be announced after the World Cup.

Would be good news for us if true.
