It's so OTT is hilarious. I'm sure the rest of the world, and FIFA, aren't getting nearly as carried away by all this as we are. And I think (and hope) the punishment will reflect that.

It's absolutely ridiculous. I'm just waiting for the meltdown when it ends up being a six match ban from international matches. No doubt the rags will campaign that the FA gives him a separate, domestic ban as well (they can't actually do that).

Biting is hardly something serious along the lines of match fixing and doping that are issues which merit world bans. It's violent conduct. 4-8 games and move on.

I think the Marca someone posted a couple of pages ago summed it up, it got a little section in the corner which in English papers is usually reserved for the bull**** transfer story they pulled out of the random player random club hat the night before.

I imagine a little more than that for international games would be more than enough.

That last paragraph of FIFA rules requires another FA to find the person guilty. Then, FIFA can extend that ban internationally. There is no rule or precedent I have seen for an international incident being extended to a domestic level. I also highly doubt the Uruguayan FA will change Luis with anything.

I heard some douchebag from Oxford on talksport this morning. He claimed to be a liverpool fan but there is no way he way. He phoned up Alan 'Drunk-driving' Brazil and Ray 'Drunk-driving' Wilkins. The guy said that (1) "we don't need him in england. He obviously has mental problems and we don't need that" to which the 2 idiots agreed. And also (2) "england played their heart out and were put out by that cheat suarez.....

The whole thing is turning into a joke now to be honest.....

I'd love if Suarez beat the system.

And to be honest if there is any ban that affects LFC, then i would be disgusted if Stevie doesnt retire from international football. Also, LFC should pull up the handbrake when it comes to releasing players for international friendlies in the future. If our players run the risk of getting bans that affect the club, then everyone has a cold every time a friendly comes along....

It's crazy. He should just nut them in future. Or if biting really is his weapon of choice he needs to disguise it better. Fellani has elbowing people down to a fine art, so much so that it never warrants a mention when he does it.

I have to laugh at the English media going absolutely bat**** crazy over this. Two year bans and such like, what utter nonsense. They're just butthurt he ended Ingurland's campaign. If this was any another player, there is NO WAY they'd be making that much noise. No chance.

I disagree with that completely. They'd react the same way if he did this at club level in this country because of his previous, nothing to do with Suarez scoring the goals that knocked out England. The media love going absolutely mental over everything in this country with characters like Suarez.

I read the first paragraph as "another FA can ask for Fifa to extend the ban, ie the English FA could request that Fifa's punishment extends globally" ?

But then the second paragraph COULD suggest that if no FAs DO request a worldwide effect, those FAs could themselves pass a decision?

Which basically means that any FA can do anything they like
