There is no way they can stop him from training privately, but they can probably stop him from training organized by a club.

Sergio Ramos has been sent off 17 times in his career. Had he been sent off in this world cup do you think FIFA would have banned him from 3 Spanish League matches?

        • Have to pay him while he's banned.
        • Forced to keep him knowing he's one more major transgression away from a likely long term/lifetime ban.

        Yay!
        I very much doubt that.

This ban is so disproportionate to others, yeah Luis deserves his just desserts but come on, this is crap from FIFA...unless they are trying to set a precedent... pfffttt highly doubt it... quite unfair on our club...

the issue for fifa now is they just drive a bigger wedge in the club vs country debate.

for example...lets say we decide to sell Suarez.....only Barca interested....they could say, if you want to sign for us....you have to retire from international football, because we don't want you to get sent off for uruguay and us to be punished"

it could happen - teams could refuse to release players for international duty for fear of losing them should they do something playing for their countries = precedence has been set

If Suarez had been red carded for a bad tackle then no he wouldn't have been banned for 3 PL matches either.

So in hindsight, who would have taken 50m and Alexis Sanchez??

It absolutely should happen if you have any players like Suarez.

You take a risk with them anyways, but build a team of support staff to minimise that risk.

This means you can't let them play away from that support group. You'd be silly to.

FIFA really have opened a huge can of worms with this ban.

                      **** FIFA, **** Suarez.
Agree with the sentiment but we will have no chance of signing top tier players if this becomes policy.

I think punishing the club is an absolute disgrace.

We might save some money on wages while he's banned - I hope we don't pay him a ****ing penny while he's out.

I'm a huge fan of Suarez as a player but he just ain't worth the aggravation anymore. I hope Barcelona would still buy him.

We can use it to pay Reina's wages!
